Reaching 'new' parents for
your nursery and pre-prep

If recruitment targets are to be met and maintained, developing a relationship with potential parents as early as possible in their school decision-making process needs to be a priority. How do you identify those parents without wasting resources?

Unlike broad-brush advertising in local newspapers, where up to 95% of the readership is not your target market, SMP has found a proven way to help you reach families with appropriate incomes and children of the right age for your nursery and pre-prep.

Using a number of different, yet proven, sources we can provide you with names and addresses of parents meeting agreed criteria within your school’s catchment. Since October 2012, when detailed data sets from the 2011 Census outputs started to become available, local data can be set in a local context more reliably.


  • Targets only households with the right child age, gender (if important), predictive household income and location
  • Databases are highly selective. (It is better to reach 200 families who do meet your recruitment criteria, than 2,000 including many who do not)
  • Reaches families who may not yet have made any educational decisions for their children
